Release March 2010: New Album "The Vivaldi Files"

The La Folia Baroque Orchestra selected works from the Venetian composer Antonio Vivaldi exclusively for their debut album "THE VIVALDI FILES". Vivaldi's concerti con due istromenti and con molti istromenti are delivered with all the Baroque splendour and wit one expects from such an ensemble who feel very much at home. La Folia Baroque Orchestra goes to the Museum

La Folia baroque orchestra is delighted to announce a concert series in Mannheim from the start of the 2010/11 concert season. The concerts, four in total, are presented under the patronage of Mayor Dr. Peter Kurz. The venue of the concerts will be the Bassermann Room at the Zeughaus Museum (Reiss-Engelhorn-Museen).

The opening concert of the series, 10th September 2010, will be given by the excellent recorder player Maurice Steger. He will be performing music from his new CD "Mr Corelli in London." The orchestra are looking forward to inviting many more renowned soloists to future concerts, including Jens Peter Maintz (Cello), Reinhold Friedrich (Trumpet) and Ramon Ortega Quero (Oboe).

After every concert we will be holding a "music lounge." The idea of this lounge is to create a relaxing atmosphere where musicians and public alike can meet and talk whilst sharing a glass of good wine and a selection of finger foods. Not only will you be able to meet the members of La Folia here, but also our guest Soloist of the evening.
